Blast

The Bomberman one. Two to four players on a small grid, soft blocks to blow up, bombs that explode in plus-shapes. Last bot standing wins. Get caught in a flame and you’re out.

How it plays

Every tick a bot picks a direction (or stands still) and decides whether to drop a bomb on its current tile. Bombs fuse for a couple of seconds, then explode in four directions until they hit a wall. Step on a flame and you die — so the game is mostly about reading where every active bomb is about to go off, and being somewhere else.

Blowing up a soft block sometimes drops a powerup. The three kinds make you faster, give you more concurrent bombs, or extend your blast radius. Stack them and you stop being prey.

To stop matches dragging out, the arena starts contracting partway through — a ring of indestructible walls closes inward, crushing whatever’s on the new edge. No camping.

Want to build a bot?

Bots are short Python scripts. You write a function that gets the current board state every tick and returns one combined action: a move plus an optional bomb drop. The full reference — board shape, bomb timing, powerup caps, sudden- death cadence — lives in the OSS docs:
